Breaking into a crowded market with many long-established players is never a small feat, but this was exactly what Ironbound Roofing came to us looking to do through a rebrand for their company.

There may be a lot of roofing companies in the Myrtle Beach region that Ironbound serves, but from a branding perspective there was actually a lot left on the table to capitalize on. The two areas we really sought to help Ironbound Roofing take advantage of were their logo style and brand colors.

Mascot logos for roofing companies were exceptionally rare in Ironbound’s market. Instead of the common clip art roof logos or AI generated logos that people are accustomed to, we created a logo and visual identity around a Greek Spartan theme and unique color palette. This theme naturally lends itself well to the idea of protection that is associated with roofing, but their fun mascot logo would ensure that the brand would still feel welcoming and friendly.

This approachability was uniquely important to Ironbound, as they really had a desire to position themselves as “the honest roofers” in the space. Contractors sometimes are burdened with negative stereotypes and a mascot logo, along with a tagline that could deliver some brand promise, would be a way to disarm some of the unease that homeowners often have.

Ultimately, we helped set Ironbound up for success by avoiding common branding mistakes of their competitors, and by designing the brand to overcome very specific business challenges. Even though they are a newer player in their market, Ironbound Roofing can cut through the noise thanks to now having a truly memorable, disruptive brand.
